Strassoldo di Sotto Castle and Town
The Castello di Sopra (Upper Castle) and the Castello di Sotto (Lower Castle) were built in the 15th century around the two towers of the previous ancient castle erected in late antiquity along the Via Julia Augusta. Standing beyond the walls is the small church of Santa Maria in Vineis, which houses a fresco cycle dating back to the 14th century.

Using the ancient Cistigna gate, visitors enter the Upper Castle: the stately palace overlooks a small square in front of the Church of San Nicolò, an ancient private chapel of the Counts of Strassoldo which houses interesting exhibits of local art.
