Pradamano

Rural village, quiet with typical Friulian architecture

SHARE

Pradamano, a quiet village on the outskirts of Udine

The town was first mentioned in an 11th century document, but it is much older, as the many Roman archaeological finds prove. For a time, it belonged to the Patriarchate of Aquileia and in 1420 it became part of the Venetian Republic until the French conquest of 1797. After switching repeatedly between French and Austrian ownership, it became part of the Habsburg Empire until 1866, when it was annexed by the Kingdom of Italy. It was occupied by Austrian troops following the Italian defeat at Caporetto during WWI.
Pradamano is a municipality in the south of Udine, Italy. There are various inns and overnight accommodation options even in historic villas. The monuments along the cycle route are: the parish church of Santa Cecilia, of ancient origin, the nineteenth-century Villa Giacomelli and the Villa Ottelio. Pleasant stop for a picnic in Rubia park with playground
